is a 20 acre small farmstead nestling at the western edge of the Vale of York. Its setting is one of absolute peace and tranquility within Gods Own County of North Yorkshire. is proud to be part of the English Heritage and, as such has ceded from the EEC. (The nearest outpost of the European Union is in Harrogate – a safe distance southwards!) The site is mainly level or gently sloping permanent pastureland. A wide variety of trees – some of considerable age – flourish within the shelter belts (Great Dog Pits Plantation) with some of the older oaks, 300-400 years being part of the old forest of Knaresborough. An ongoing programme of renewal is underway as certain trees succumb to creeping honey fungus or fall during the winter gales.
